The aim of the Majes-Siguas project is to regulate and transfer water resources to the area, achieving irrigation of up to 60,000 hectares. In phase I of the project, some 23,000 hectares have been covered and the rest will be the result of the works of Stage II, to be undertaken by the consortium formed by us and another company. In this stage, water from the Apurímac river will be transferred to the Colca by means of the Angostura dam, with a capacity to dam 1,140 million m³ which in turn will feed the hydraulic bypass tunnel, the Pucará-Trasandino, of 11 km, the Lluclla intake in the Siguas River and the distribution system of the Pampas de Siguas for the habilitation of 38,500 Ha for agricultural use.
Characteristics:
· Dam of loose materials with concrete screen of 2 MM of m3 in Angostura.
· 3 27 km tunnels for water diversion.
· Intake on the Siguas river in the town of Lluclla.
· More than 100 km of channel.
· 38,500 new hectares for agricultural use.
It should be noted that all work will be carried out at an altitude higher than 4,000 meters above sea level.
