BESOS
BESOS is an European Union R&D project funded by the European Commission in the context of the 7th Framework Program (FP7) that proposes the development of an advanced, integrated, management system which enables energy efficiency in smart cities from a holistic perspective.This project was born from the need to acquire better information about the independent management systems that exist in cities within different public services such as street lighting, district heating and electric vehicles etc. in order to achieve advanced coordinated energy saving strategies, as well as providing new business models.
In order to obtain this advanced integrated system, a support system was created to help in the decision making that improves urban energy efficiency (Open Trustworthy Energy Service Platform), permitting a reduction in cost and guaranteeing the quality of services (QOS).
COBRA ‘s role in this project was to contribute with their experience in renewable energy generation and the interaction with the Spanish TSO in the development of the aforementioned platform.
