The Manufacture of two topsides for substations on the offshore Wikinger wind farm. The project consists of the manufacture of an offshore substation for Scottish Power Renewables in the "East Anglia One" wind farm located in the North Sea.
The main purpose of the offshore substation is to house the high and medium voltage electrical equipment for the transformation of the 66 kV power delivered by the 102 wind turbines (with a total power of 714 MW) to the 220 kV which will be transported to the ground network.
The topside module that houses the substation has an approximate size of 52.4m x 27.9m and is 20m in height. It sits on a tubular structure known as a jacket with four points of support. It will be located 85km from the coast.
