The project includes the demolition of the current water storage tank in Vallecas, out of service at the beginning of the project and the construction of a new rectangular POTUS storage tank divided into six independent basins joined in pairs. The construction is in reinforced concrete and the foundation construction employs slabs pillars and walls constructed in situ. The roof is constructed using alveolar panels. The capacity of the water tank is 156960m³ with a normal water level of 7m and a maximum water level of 8m.
The work undertaken also includes the construction of a new booster station situated on land adjacent to the water tank. This station is equipped with four vertical dry installed pumps with a total power of 1065 kw + 355 kw in reserve to conduct a flow of 1000 l/s to the connection to the principal pipeline of the Zona Alta of the Desarrollo Sureste.
The project also includes all the electrical and control installations necessary for the full functioning and operation of the new water storage tank and booster station.
