Las Perlas North
The Las Perlas Norte power plant is a run-of-river plant that uses the discharge water from the Concepción power plant from which it is located downstream, on the left bank of the River Piedra, approximately 26 km from the City of David, Corregimientos de Guayabal and Boquerón Cabecera, Boquerón District, Province of Chiriqui, Republic of Panama.
Planned installed capacity is 10MW.
The plant has two generation units with 5 MW Francis turbines manufactured by MAVEL, a.s. and ABB brand electrical equipment
• The gross head of the plant is 66.13m with an estimated losses of 6.93m.
• The design flow rate is 20 m3/s.
• The projected annual average power output is 60GWh.
The Las Perlas Sur
The Las Perlas Sur power plant is a run-of-river hydroelectric plant that uses the discharge water from the Las Perlas Norte plant from which it is located downstream, on the left bank of the River Piedra, at a distance of approximately 26 km from the City of David, Corregimientos de Guayabal and Boquerón Cabecera, Boquerón District, Province of Chiriqui, Republic of Panama.
The planned installed capacity is 10MW.
The LPS Central has two generation units with 5 MW Francis turbines manufactured by MAVEL, a.s., ABB brand electrical equipment, including a main step-up transformer and an electrical substation.
• The gross head of the LPS is 67.68 m.
• The design flow rate is 20 m3/s.
• The projected annual average power output is 60GWh.
